Comprehensive Mental Health Care Tailored to Your Needs.
Investment in Your Mental Health.
Why We Don't Accept Insurance?
we have made the decision not to work with insurance companies to ensure you receive the highest quality of care. When therapists work with insurance, they usually are required to provide a diagnosis to get paid (even when one is not warranted). Frequently insurance specifies inappropriate session-limits that do not adequately address your clinical needs. Once a clinical diagnosis is made, it becomes part of your permanent medical record and may infringe upon your personal privacy boundaries. And, by definition, medical insurance implicitly operates via a medical perspective, a perspective that is fueled by assumptions of pathology. Sometimes people without a psychiatric diagnosis choose to engage in psychotherapy to explore ways to improve success strategies and gain a greater depth of insight about themselves, or to figure out ways to more effectively approach personal and professional relationships. However, if you choose to submit sessions to insurance in order to garner out-of-network benefits, then we will happy to provide a receipt.
Why choose online psychotherapy?
Online therapy in Washington State and Texas offers the same effective treatment as traditional in-person sessions, with added convenience. All therapy provided is secure and follows HIPAA-compliant standards via video sessions.
Therapeutic Approaches
We have been trained in multiple proven therapy methods and will work with you to figure out what approach is best in your particular situation. Often the best approach is an integrative one, a synthesis of ideas and skills borrowed from the rich tapestry of different clinical schools of thought. There are times though, such as is with the diagnosis of borderline personality disorder (BPD), that one specific structured therapy is most appropriate (DBT).
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) - Learn to change negative thinking patterns that are holding you back.
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) - Master skills to manage intense emotions and improve relationships.
- Family systems therapy - Fix problems between family members and improve how you communicate.
- Existential therapy - Discover what gives your life meaning and purpose.
- Trauma-focused therapy - Heal from painful experiences that still affect you today.
- Interpersonal therapy - Build stronger, healthier relationships with others.
- Psychodynamic therapy - Gain insight, how past experiences & subconscious associations effect you now.
- And many other proven methods designed specifically for what you're going through - Such as: rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, Rogerian client-centered therapy, gestalt therapy, transactional analysis, Adlerian therapy, self psychology, Ericksonian therapy, brief therapy, internal family systems therapy, positive psychology, exposure therapy, developmental and psychoanalytical approaches, DBT skills training.

What to Expect in Your Sessions
Your First Online Session. In the first video call, time will be spent getting to know each other. You will be asked about what has brought you to therapy, your background, and what’s happening in your life right now. Think of it like putting together a puzzle, needed first is an inspection of the big picture so that we can figure out the best way to move forward.
How Many Sessions Will I Need? This depends on what you want to work on:
• Specific problems (like a fear of flying) - Often just a few sessions.
• Learning new skills (like managing anger) - Usually several weeks to a few months.
• Deep personal work (understanding patterns from childhood) - This takes longer, sometimes many months.
I'll be honest with you about how long things typically take and what it might cost, so you can plan accordingly.
